Im Zuge des erfolglosen Versuches, sich als deutscher Staatsbüger bei der New York Public Library aus der Ferne zu registrieren, habe ich via Library of Congress Bibliotheken genannt bekommen, bei welchen diese Möglichkeit bestehen soll. Ich nehme mir beispielhaft die Queens Public Library für $50 zur Hand.

• Central Arkansas Library System: For any patron who does not reside or pay taxes in our service area, CALS offers a non-resident card for an annual fee of $54. 
• Orange County, Florida: Fee card accounts are available to people outside of the United States. Fee card accounts are non-refundable and are available for 3 months ($75) or for 1 year ($125).
• Queens Public Library: For an annual fee of $50 all Non NYS Residents can purchase a Queens Library account. […]“
